About Studley Flower Gardens

Studley Flower Gardens is the oldest and most popular flower shop in Rochester. It was established in 1928 by businessman Joshua Studley, Mayor of Rochester 1939-40, NH State Representative, late 1930's through 1944 and member of the NH Governor's Council 1945-46.

In March 1971, Norma Studley Currier sold the business to Pieter and BettyJane Meulenbroek. Pieter is from The Netherlands and studied horticultural landscaping at Boskoop College. Betty Jane graduated from Rutgers University and handles the financial and marketing administration.

Studley’s remains a family business with two Meulenbroek sons, David and Jeffrey, joining the staff of 15 full-time and several part-time / Seasonal employees.

Locally, Studley's has been voted Rochester's Favorite Florist for 14 years running in an independent survey (GKM National Independent Survey Co.). Nationally Studley's ranks among the top 500 FTD florists. In 2003 Studley’s was nationally recognized as FTD's Marketer of the year.

With over 78 years of providing superior quality service to the Tri-City area, Studley’s is poised to expand in as many directions as the market allows. Its major focal activities may be summed up:
  1. Full-service retail florist with wire service affiliations
  2. Commercial and residential plant maintenance department
  3. Seasonal floral design classes
  4. Complete garden center with sample display gardens
  5. Landscape and irrigation services
  6. Greenhouse growers.
